Improving Indonesia’s Maritime Sector
Recently, Indonesia’s maritime industry is growing positively. Indonesia needs more ships to transport commodities, mining, coal, palm oil, food, building materials, and others for export and inter-islands. In addition, ships for passengers and tourists are also needed a lot. Many shipyards and shipbuilding are busy repairing or building new ships. This indicates that the Indonesian maritime industry is on the rise.
The government has the goal of making Indonesia a World Maritime Axis which aims to make Indonesia a big, strong and prosperous maritime country through restoring Indonesia’s identity as a maritime nation, safeguarding maritime interests and security, and empowering maritime potential to realize economic equality in Indonesia.
