Indonesia is the world’s maritime axis because of its strategic position between the encounter of the Indian and Pacific oceans so that it automatically provides a lot of potential marine economic resources that can be managed and utilized for the future of the nation and the backbone of national development.
President Joko Widodo himself has introduced Indonesia’s policy as the World Maritime Axis in which one of the pillars is a commitment to build maritime infrastructure and connectivity by building sea highways, seaports, shipping logistics and industry, and marine tourism.
